William L. Lorimer, Ph.D.

President, Charitable Partnerships Organization

William Lorimer is a founder and President of Charitable Partnerships, a full service vertically-integrated technical support organization for the not-for-profit community and its donors and allied businesses. In his work with non-profit clients he specializes in leadership development, team-based organizational training and systems integration, providing clients a solid fit between their leadership strategies, the information tools, and the day-to-day work of their paid and volunteer teams. Mr. Lorimer was formerly head of product development for Wilson Learning Corporation, an international leader in strategic management and sales training. During six years in this role he worked closely with organizations in major industry sectors: telecommunications, computers, automotive, airlines, banking, and insurance, to name a few. He also served as a senior trainer delivering over 70 seminars and hundreds of speeches to a diverse mix of audiences. With the advent of networked microcomputers Lorimer assumed the role of CIO at Wilson learning, holding this position for an additional six years. In this role he developed innovative, state-of-the-art information systems providing Wilson's twenty offices around the world with Internet-like functionality, years before the World Wide Web was publicly available. Based on these achievements Mr. Lorimer was invited to speak at INTERFACE conferences on networked solutions. Since leaving Wilson Learning in 1988 to start his own consulting practice, Mr. Lorimer has worked mainly with the not-for-profit sector, consulting with hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities and social service organizations, assisting these companies and agencies to strategize, plan, raise funds, and develop cost effective and labor efficient solutions to their critical business needs. He has conducted numerous strategic planning, change management, financial development and team building workshops.

Mr. Lorimer has served as a faculty member or guest lecturer at local, national and international conferences including "HealthCare 2000" (University of St. Thomas and Apple Computer, the InterHealth Annual Conferences, and The Public Support Institutes (American Red Cross). He has written articles for various magazines and industry journals and recently published a book with Aspen Publishers entitled Team-Based Health Care Organizations: A Blueprint for Success.

Mr. Lorimer and his family reside in St. Paul, Minnesota.
